What's trending in 2012 in the wedding world.....

I  have been doing some research for this years beautiful weddings and have learnt that wedding flowers will always be a popular way to decorate your wedding, however, lots of couples are finding the florist’s bill is one of the items in their budget they can cut back on, meaning they are looking for alternative ways to decorate their venues which is where we can come in http://www.eventsforu.co.uk/index.html

Brides are choosing centrepieces that are in the same colour tones, but of different sizes. They are also playing around with layouts of tables, mixing round with square and loosing the traditional layouts to something more quirky and a less "coordinated" feel. Pretty fillings include glass marbles, sea or glass shells, acrylic ice crystals, water crystals and silk flowers or rose petals.

Below are popular wedding colour choices we are seeing for 2012:
Tangerine Orange, Aqua Blue, yellow mustard tones, lilac and purples, navy and royal blue, deep reds, lattes mocha tones, sage greens, charcoal and dusky pinks.

Below are popular Themes we are seeing in 2012:
Victorian Vintage, Garden Party, Rustic Country Style, Shabby Chic, Winter Wonderland, Black & White Classic, Cherry Blossom, Beach, & Butterfly themes.

Co-ordinating your wedding decorations with your favours as gifts is becoming very popular, and centrepieces such as letters spelling out words such as ‘love’, or "Mr & Mrs" tend to be the focal point of a top table, along with birdcages or candelabras as well as stunning glassware using floating candles or coloured nuggets. Signs and chalkboards continue to be popular and whether you buy them or make them yourself, signs can provide a fun and personal touch for the couple to communicate with their guests as well as forming part of their wedding decorations.  Wishing tress and ornate table plans are a big must (some great designs available from http://www.handmadebygemma.co.uk/ to colour co-ordinate with your theme)

Freeze Dried or preserved rose petals and clear or coloured scatter crystals remain the most popular table confetti. Reception and ceremony chairs decorated with chaircovers which are still hugely on trend for 2012 combined with sashes and swags for top tables in your colour choice

Bunting has been massive in the last couple of years especially with the "vintage, garden party, rustic" themes playing a big part in the theming of weddings, and its popularity looks secure this year as it is easy, effective, and relatively cheap way to decorate larger venues or outdoor spaces. Maybe the the union jack motif will become popular what with the Queen’s jubilee this year and the Royal Wedding last year I'm sure it will be incorporated into many wedding themes around that time this year, I have already seen a lot of Navy and reds coming in around this time with my bookings.

Other popular decorating items include Chinese lanterns, candelabras and balloons. Disposable cameras, placed on each table, allow guests to capture candid moments bubbles and gift bags for the children.  Different options are trading for your guest book tables with the use of wishing trees where each guests can write a wedding wish and hang on your tree or ornate post boxes are a great way for guests to put cards, money/vouchers where they will be secure.

A very popular trend at present is the candy buffet/sweet tables which consists of a variety of sweets and treats placed in varied sizes of glass containers placed on a decorated table with tongs and scoops in each container to allow guests to fill small boxes or bags as take-home favours.

Draping and lighting an area or ceilings can give a very soft romantic feel to your venue and can take away some of that "corporate" feel some venues may have... and can completely transform a venue such as village halls/sports halls.  The use of uplighters in your colour tone can create a dramatic effect lighting up a dull are of just bring in some soft romance and mood lighting.

Candles are always a popular choice for centrepieces, as they tend to give a romantic feel to a room. Popular choices include pillar candles arranged in hurricane vases or amongst a floral display, tea lights in holders, dinner/taper candles placed in candelabras and floating candles in large vases such as martinis. alternatives to real candles include faux tea light candles or battery operated LED lights and or fibre optic lighting are a great alternative and these days and very realistic.
